Where is the worlds tallest  Christmas tree?

There are some giant Christmas trees around the world, from the Rockefeller centre in New York to the giant 109ft tree at Las Vegas M-Resort. We take a look at some giant trees around the world to find out which city hosts the largest (natural) tree.

Rockefeller Centre New York

The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree in New York is one of the most recognized Christmas trees in the world, however it is not the tallest. Reaching a height of 75ft the Norway Spruce tree is decorated with approximately 18,000 Christmas lights. The tree is lit in early December and remains illuminated until the first week of January and attracts millions of New Yorkers and tourists alike.

Stockholm Sweden

This beautiful Christmas tree is located in the old town, Stockholm. The tree is a Norwegian Spruce and stands approximately 124ft high with 5,000 Christmas lights.

Both of these trees are giants but they are dwarfed by a Giant Grand fir in Idaho…..

The tallest (natural) Christmas Tree is in Coeur d’Alene Resort – Idaho, USA

The tree stands a massive 162 feet tall and hosts a staggering 30,000 christmas lights. The tree is found on the shoreline of lake Lake Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and sees over 40,000 visiters each year.

Mexico City, Mexico/ Rio, Brazil

Covered in 1.2 million light bulbs and 80 kilometres of cable this enormous Christmas tree in the heart of Mexico City stakes the claim as the tallest man made Christmas tree in the world. The tree stands at a whopping 360 feet.

At 85 metres this Christmas tree in Brazil is not as big as Mexico’s but it does sit on water making it the world’s tallest floating tree. The tree is the country’s third biggest tourist event and draws in more than a million people over the festive period.
